The Last Temptation of Christ is a classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” film. While being crucified, an angel comes and pulls Jesus off the cross, and Jesus lives for many years. He marries that strumpet, has children, and watches the world eventually sink into despair and turmoil. Under the foolish assumption that the world would be better off if he had actually be crucified, Jesus is transported back in time and allowed to die on the cross. And ever since then, we’ve nothing but had peace and love, all in Jesus’s name. But at least it makes a good movie.
